Refreshing Scallop Tartar, Capers & Egg Yolk

I love steak tartar however sometimes I like to make tartar with fresh seafood! In this recipe I used scallops. However you can also make this recipe with fresh fish, like sea bream. This recipe is easy to make and only requires a few ingredients. Moreover you can prepare your tartar ahead, which makes this a perfect party recipe!

Scallop Tartar, Capers & Egg Yolk

Servings 4 servings
Prep Time 15 minutes


  • 16 Scallops
  • 4 tsp Capers
  • 1 Shallot
  • Some Parsley
  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • Cress


  • Cut the scallops, shallot, capers and parsley very fine. Add all the ingredients to a bowl and add salt & pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • *If you want to serve the tartar later, you can cover the tartar with plastic foil and keep it in the refrigerator.
  • Divide the tartar mix over the four shells. Use the back of a spoon to create a hole on top of the tartar.
  • Add the egg yolk on top of the tartar & finish the dish with some cress.
